1. Princess Diana's wedding tiara will be exhibited for the first time in decades
This summer, auction house Sotheby's will display some of history's most influential tiaras in a new exhibition called "Power & Image: Royal & Aristocratic Tiaras." The event, which opens in London on May 28, is a celebratory retrospective of 50 tiaras, dedicated to the Queen's Platinum Jubilee. Included in the lineup is The Spencer Tiara, famously worn by Princess Diana during her wedding to Prince Charles at St. Paul's Cathedral. It was likely handed down to Diana by her grandmother, Lady Cynthia Hamilton, who received the tiara as a wedding present in 1919. The exhibit will also show one of Queen Victoria's favorite pieces - an emerald and diamond crown gifted to her by Prince Albert when she was 26 years old. Until June 15.

2. Superbloom at the Tower of London
This is an immersive floral spectacular will see visitors enter the medieval moat and be transported through a field of blooms around the famous fortress in celebration of HM The Queen’s 70 years on the throne. Over 20 million seeds erupting into a an explosion of colour. Opening on 1 June and running until mid-September.

To celebrate the launch of the high speed Crossrail, TfL are releasing a set of limited edition Oyster Cards. Keen collectors will know that this is the 5th limited edition Oyster card, with others including designs for the 2012 Olympics, 2011 royal wedding or the last Diamond Jubilee.

5. The Duke of Cambridge will star on new five pound coin to commemorate his 40th birthday
Released before the milestone occasion on 21 June, the coin, which has been designed by Thomas T Docherty, features a carved likeness of the royal alongside the number 40 and the letter W, for William. His grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II’s image, will be struck on the other side of the coin. The limited-edition 5oz gold coin is intended as a souvenir and cannot be accepted by banks.

In the State Rooms at Buckingham Palace, portraits of the Queen taken by photographer Dorothy Wilding just after her accession to the throne will be on view. These portraits will be accompanied by the jewelry she wore in the sittings, including the famous Diamond Diadem. Platinum Jubilee: The Queen’s Accession opens at Buckingham Palace July 22 and runs through October 2.

M&S is presenting us with a pair of cakes: ‘Corgi and Queen Connie the Caterpillar Cake duo’. So that’s one with the face of a dog, and one with the face of a Queen. The cake duo is described as ‘two chocolate sponge rolls filled with chocolate buttercream, covered in milk chocolate with an edible cape’. Suitable for vegetarians, it retails at £12 for the two.

9. Go without a ticket as Tate Galleries go without tickets
The Tate group of galleries recently announced that visits to their London galleries are now much easier. Tate Britain and Tate Modern have both amended their entry policy such that free entry no longer requires a ticket. Now we don't have to pre-book a ticket, or queue upon entry. Now, you can just stroll right in without a ticket.

10. St. Pauls Cathedral has a special Jubilee Exhibition
Jubilee: St Paul’s, the Monarch and the Changing World explores the grand ceremonial occasions held at the Cathedral to commemorate the Royal Jubilees of four British monarchs: George III, Victoria, George V and Elizabeth II. This exhibition is included with Cathedral admission.
