This is one of the best views of London

This is one of London's most popular green spaces and considering the views it offers, that's hardly surprising. I'm talking about Hampstead Heath, a huge green park located in the north of London. It really is huge, I must say. We can spend hours exploring the many trails.

Hampstead Heath has always been a popular place for authors and poets. Alexander Pope, John Arbuthnot, Richard Steele, and later John Keats, Percy Shelley and Leigh Hunt, were frequent visitors. Whilst living in London, Karl Marx and his family went to the heath regularly, as their favourite outing.

In the 19th century, it was almost destroyed by local landowner Maryon Wilson, who planned to transform the Heath into an estate. Locals were set against the idea, and they managed to win the legal battle again Wilson. The Heath remained.

Hampstead Heath's ponds are some of its main attractions... I didn't know it, but the River Fleet (London's lost river), runs right through there. You can hear it flowing on the west side of Hampstead Heath, the Vale of the Health.

In Parliament Hill you'll find the best view of London's entire city skyline. From up there you can see the BT Tower, London Eye, St. Paul's Cathedral, Gherkin, the Shard and Sky Garden.

It is very special during summertime as hundreds of young locals go there to do yoga, sunbath, drink and swim in the ponds. Originally it was a point of defence during the English Civil War, and it was named after the troops loyal to Parliament and was often referred to as Traitor's Hill.

I love to go there during the sunset hours...

Conseguimos ouvi-lo a correr no lado oeste de Hampstead Heath, no Vale of Health.

Adoro lá ir durante as horas do pôr do sol...
