1.The Florence Nightingale Museum has reopened
It reopened on 12th May 2022 to coincide with Nightingale’s 202nd Birthday and International Nurses Day 2022. Florence Nightingale was the first female member of the Royal Statistical Society. She was the founder of modern nursing and one of the greatest Victorians and a female icon in her own lifetime. She is still an inspiration to nurses around the globe. In the museum, we can discover all about her affluent childhood, how she fought against her parents’ wishes to become a nurse, her work during the Crimean War and how she campaigned for better healthcare for ordinary people. As well as ee the actual lamp she carried which earned her the nickname The Lady With The Lamp, meet her pet owl and see her medicine chest.

1.O Museu Florence Nightingale reabriu
Reabriu a 12 de maio de 2022 para coincidir com o 202º aniversário de Nightingale e com o Dia Internacional dos Enfermeiros de 2022. Florence Nightingale foi a primeira mulher membro da Royal Statistical Society. Ela foi a fundadora da enfermagem moderna, uma das maiores vitorianas e um ícone feminino da sua época. Ela ainda é uma inspiração para enfermeiras um pouco por todo o mundo. No museu, podemos descobrir tudo sobre a sua infância rica, como ela lutou contra a vontade dos seus pais para se tornar enfermeira, o seu trabalho durante a Guerra da Crimeia e como ela lutou por melhores cuidados de saúde para os cidadãos. Além de vermos a lanterna original que ela carregava, e que lhe rendeu o apelido de A Dama da Lanterna, podemos também conhecer a sua coruja de estimação, bem como a sua mala de remédios.

2. London Eye has a new Jubilee's Experience
The London Eye's organisers have created a brand new experience, dedicated to our longest-reigning monarch. It's ‘The Queen’s Head’, ostensibly designed to be a traditional 50s pub, soaring 135m over London, and the decor is quite exhuberant. For £60 we will have two drinks and fast-track boarding (no pints, I’m afraid, as drinks on offer are strictly approved by HRH and will be either Beefeater gin or Dubonnet-based cocktails).
2. O London Eye tem uma nova experiência do Jubileu
Os responsáveis pelo London Eye criaram uma experiência totalmente nova, dedicada à nossa monarca mais antiga. Chama-se 'The Queen's Head', ostensivamente projetado para ser um pub tradicional dos anos 50, 135m acima da cidade de Londres, e a decoração é bastante exuberante. Por £ 60, teremos duas bebidas e entrada rápida (sem cervejas, receio, pois as bebidas oferecidas são estritamente aprovadas por Sua Alteza Real e serão gin Beefeater ou cocktails à base de Dubonnet).
3. The new Elizabeth Line is unveiled
The new tube network linking Shenfield, Essex and Abbey Wood, all the way to Reading in Berkshire, has been in the works since the 90s. It promises more than 20 trains per hour – that’s around one every three minutes. The line stops at central London stations including Liverpool Street, Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street, Whitechapel and Paddington.
3. A nova Elizabeth Line é inaugurada
A nova rede de metro que liga Shenfield, Essex e Abbey Wood, até Reading, em Berkshire, está em andamento desde os anos 90. Promete mais de 20 comboios por hora – cerca de um a cada três minutos. A linha pára nas estações do centro de Londres, incluindo Liverpool Street, Tottenham Court Road, Bond Street, Whitechapel e Paddington.
4. Hidden Roman mosaic near The Shard discovered
It’s the biggest of its kind to be found in London for half a century. A huge Roman mosaic, dating from the end of the second century or the beginning of the third, has been unearthed near The Shard. This was probably the floor of a ‘triclinium’: a fancy dining room where well-to-do Romans would recline and feast. This may have been part of a ‘mansio’: a kind of motel for people travelling to and from Londinium over the river.
5. Descoberto mosaico romano escondido perto do The Shard
É o maior do género encontrado em Londres há meio século. Um enorme mosaico romano, datado do final do século II ou início do terceiro, foi desenterrado perto do The Shard. Este era provavelmente o piso de um 'triclinium': uma sala de jantar chique onde romanos abastados se reclinavam e festejavam. Pode ter sido parte de uma 'mansio': uma espécie de motel para pessoas que viajavam de e para Londinium sobre o rio.
5. Some London buses on royal routes have had a purple makeover to mark the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.
The commemorative wraps have been added to eight vehicles on routes which pass sites like Kensington Palace and Westminster Abbey. Celebratory messages will also be played on the Jubilee line, Elizabeth line and at stations that have a royal link in their name, like Queen's Road. The Tube has a longstanding history with the Royal Family, with the Queen became the first reigning monarch to use the Underground when she opened the Victoria line in March 1969.
5. Alguns autocarros de Londres em rotas reais sofreram um ‘banho‘ roxo para marcar o Jubileu de Platina da Rainha. As pinturas comemorativas foram adicionadas a oito veículos em rotas que passam por locais como o Palácio de Kensington e a Abadia de Westminster. Mensagens comemorativas também serão instaladas na linha Jubilee, Elizabeth e em estações que tenham uma ligação real no seu nome, como a estação de Queen's Road. O metro tem uma longa história com a família real, tendo sido a rainha a primeira monarca a usar o metro quando abriu a linha Victoria em março de 1969.
6. 'Inspiring Walt Disney' at Wallace Collection
In collaboration with New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art, the magic of Disney Drawing. The exhibition highlights the exceptional talent and innovation of both Walt Disney Animation Studios artists and the creative pioneers of the French 18th century. It reveals the surprising and enchanting connections between these two artistic movements.

8. ‘Bridgerton’ mansion can be visited in London
This Bridgerton mansion is home to Grosvenor Square’s most enviable family. With its Georgian red brick façade, balustraded parapet and carved stone decoration, the Ranger’s House (located on the outskirts of Greenwich Park) radiates sophistication. ‘Bridgerton’ has become Netflix’s most successful English-speaking drama, convincing the masses that a villa in Greenwich Park was in Mayfair.

9. Breaking the News exhibition
Explore five centuries of UK news through broadsheets, blogs and objects from our own collection and examine era-defining stories close-up. From reporting on Jack the Ripper to the Profumo Affair. And from coverage of the Grenfell Tower fire to the war in Syria. You will see the first newspaper published in England to survive and the SOS telegram from Titanic. Until 21 of August.

10. Beatrix Potter Exhibition
Celebrating the life and work of one of the best loved children's authors of the 20th century. This family friendly exhibition takes visitors on a journey to discover Potter's life as a scientist and conservationist and explores the places and animals that inspired her most beloved characters. In collaboration with the National Trust.
