One day after the announcing plans of Prince Harry and Meghan to step back I keep discussing the subject, I keep reading all the news... and I still look for a normal meaning for all of this:
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's son, Archie, did not accompany them to London: Archie never returned to the UK with the couple and remained in Canada with Meghan's best friend. Apparently, the baby remained under the careful watch of Meghan’s close friend Jessica Mulroney and a nanny. This proves Meghan and Harry were clearly not intending to be back in London for long. But, how weird this can be? If there is nothing against the Royal Family, and if they are not running away, why didn't they bring Archie to see Harry's family, after an extended break away in Canada?...
The Duchess of Sussex headed back to Canada: according to the BBC, the Duchess of Sussex is reportedly already back on Canadian soil, having spent just a few days in the UK. Harry was left alone dealing with the Royal Family, and is also heading back to Canada soon. He's thought to be still in England in order to help reach an agreement with the Queen, Prince Charles and the Duke of Cambridge. Shouldn't she have stayed beside him? What if the Queen wants to talk to her, seeking some kind of explanation? She's already in Canada...
The Queen's reaction: Once again, she shows dignity in a crisis. At 93, after countless crisis over the course of her glorious 67-year reign, few things could possibly faze her. Her Majesty has reportedly ordered a meeting between herself, Prince Charles, Prince William, and their respective offices, aiming to find a “workable solution” to Meghan and Harry’s desire to alter their roles as soon as possible. One of the trickiest issues will be the cost of the couple's protection, which at present is funded by the taxpayer at a cost of hundreds of thousands of pounds a year. The bill faced is likely to increase substantially if the couple spend significant time abroad.
The shocking announcement might have been a premeditated act: apparently, everything began in a civilised manner, with emails between Prince Harry and his father as they conducted negotiations thousands of miles apart, right before Christmas. He was told he needed to come up with a thought-out plan. When he sent a draft proposal to Prince Charles early in the new year he was told more time was needed to think through the complex implications, particularly over funding. According to The Times sources, it reached an impasse where Charles said 'We need to have this conversations in person. This is not something we can negotiate over email.". That was accepted, but Harry also wanted to talk to his grandmother. He communicated with her on the phone, wanted to see her, not to negotiate, but to talk to her grandson to granny. He called her suggesting that he visit her at Sandringham, and apparently she said yes. Then came what has been described as a classic move from the Palace - a message was conveyed "Oh sorry, misunderstanding, she might have said she was avaialable but actually she is not". The source said this was, in part, because the family were worried that he would use anything she said in their meeting as a negotiating tactic. Harry went angry and upset. And as 'The Sun' was on to a story about their plans to spend more time in Canada, they decided to release a statement - the other royal households were given the statement shortly after 6pm on Wednesday. Ten minutes later it was sent out to the world.
They claim they want normal jobs: the announcement says they retain their royal titles and privileges while seeking "financial independence"... All this would be perfect if the idea was similar to Prince William when he worked as an air ambulance pilot, or King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands who was recently revealed to have spent the past two decades leading a double life as a part-time pilot for KLM. This is a good role model... and they didn't have to abandon their royal roles, nor even the country.
Prince Charles could stop funding the Duke and Duchess of Sussex if they step away from royal duties entirely: according to a new survey by YouGov, the public support Harry and Meghan's decision to step back from the royal family but do not think they should continue to receive money from Prince Charles's estate.
Frogmore Cottage in Windsor: They live rent free in Frogmore Cottage. Royal accounts show that 2,4 million pounds has been spent renovating the four-bedroom home. The refurbishment was paid for by the sovereign grant. Harry and Meghan paid for the fittings and furniture. They said that they would continue to use Frogmore Cottage "with the permission of Her Majesty The Queen" as their official residence and so that their family will always have a place to call home in the UK. If the Queen decides to charge them a commercial rate, they could face a bill of about £60,000 a year.

Right on the announcement day, The New York Post put them on a memorable front page - the couple appear in a dingy living room with the blinds down, sitting on a tartan sofa in front of a TV, surrounded by empty cans of lager and a dirty plate, with the title "Megxit". The celebrity gossip magazine US Weekly cited an anonymous source who informed readers that "William was blindsided by Harry and Meghan's decision and statement" and felt "incredibly hurt".
