On Pride Parade in London, I was not in town. But the truth is that I arrived in time to see a lot of partying in the streets. It was a fantastic and unique experience.
The energy in the air was extraordinarily positive. It was so good to see so many genuinely happy and free people. It was past six in the afternoon, and I made my way through the Piccadilly area to Trafalgar Square.
There's a lot to be proud of in holding a great party like this one. The event was big, bold and full of colour. That small word "pride" matters so much... it is pride in something which people were once told they should be ashamed of, pride in the courage of those who fought against oppression and for equality. But the truth is, the battle is not over yet.

No dia da Pride Parade em Londres, eu não estava na cidade. Mas a verdade é que cheguei a tempo de ver ainda muita festa nas ruas. Foi uma experiência fantástica e única.
A energia que se sentia no ar era extraordinariamente positiva. Foi tão bom ver tanta gente genuinamente feliz e livre. Já devia passar das seis da tarde, e resolvi percorrer a zona de Piccadilly até Trafalgar Square.
Deve haver muito orgulho pela realização de uma grande festa como esta. O evento foi grande, arrojado e cheio de cor. Essa pequena palavra "orgulho" é tão importante.. é o orgulho perante algo que em tempos as pessoas achavam que tinham de se envergonhar, orgulho perante a coragem daqueles que lutaram contra a opressão e pela igualdade. Mas a verdade é que a batalha ainda não terminou.
