February 17, 2018

Buckingham Palace prepares to reduce the waste of plastic. And the man behind the new measure is Sir David Attenborough.

It is said that the Queen have watched on tv the documentary of Attenborough, ‘Blue Planet II’ (BBC). In one of the episodes, the impact that plastic waste has on the planet, particularly in the oceans, is denounced.

From now on, straws and plasticbottles will be gradually banned in all royal properties. Suppliers of the Buckigham Palace, Windsor Castle and Hollyroodhouse are only allowed to use porcelain dishes and glass or recyclable card cups.

In addition, Buckingham Palace is undergoing renovations to become ‘greener’. Solar panels are being installed and the electrical system is being renovated.

O Palácio de Buckingham prepara-se para reduzir o desperdício de plástico. E o homem por trás desta nova medida é Sir David Attenborough.
